Chioma Ubogagu Scores In England Senior Debut

Orlando Pride of USA’s Nigerian-born star, Chioma Ubogagu made hay on her debut for England’s senior women’s national team, as she struck a goal in their 3-0 victory against Austria.

Footballlive.ng can, however, confirmed that Ubogagu is still eligible to play for Nigeria’s Super Falcons, as her debut for England was only an international friendly.

The striker was named in the starting lineup for the away game in Vienna by the coach, England legend, Phil Neville and scored 26 minutes into the game after a mistake by Carina Wenninger.

Ubogagu fired home from six yards after Wenninger failed to clear the ball out, but made way for Rachel Daly of Houston Dash 13 minutes into the second half.

Ubogagu would be hoping to impress once again when they entertain Sweden on Sunday as she aims to cement her place in the side ahead of the trip to France.

She would then be cap-tied with England should they list her for next summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup,
