Korea 2007 FIFA U17 World Cup winner and top scorer, Chrisantus Macauley has turned up in Finland, as he takes another step towards getting a revival for his once booming career.
With things heading downhill ever since he started out on the wrong foot in Germany 11 years ago, Chrisantus is close to agreeing a short term deal with HJK Helsinki, who used to have a horde of Nigerian players in their squad.
Chrisantus arrived in Finland on Friday and a medical has been scheduled for him, before the club will formally announce his capture on a free transfer after the expiration of his deal at Real Murcia of Spain.
The 27-year-old Chrisantus has agreed a four month deal with the option of a year to get an extension, based on his performance in his initial stay at the club according to what our editorial team gathered from one of his representatives.
Last season, Chrisantus played in the Spanish third division with Murcia and proved his ability to hit the back of the net, as it earned him global recognition in 2007.
He scored eight times in 14 games, as the club narrowly missed out on promotion to the second division and HJK will hope he replicate same form for them when he gets signed.
