Chukweze Plays An Hour in 6-Goal Thriller

Date:

In a thrilling Serie A encounter at the Mapei Stadium, Sassuolo and AC Milan played out a captivating 3-3 draw, as Samuel Chukwueze continued hia fine run of form.

The match got off to an electrifying start as Sassuolo took an early lead in the 4th minute, with Andrei Pinamonti finding the back of the net, assisted by Kristian Thorstvedt. The hosts doubled their advantage just six minutes later, as Armand Lauriente finished past Marco Sportiello to make it 2-0.

However, Milan responded swiftly, with Rafael Leao reducing the deficit in the 20th minute. Leao displayed his individual brilliance, dribbling past two defenders before slotting the ball home to give Milan hope.

Sassuolo restored their two-goal cushion in the 53rd minute, courtesy of another goal from Lauriente, this time assisted by Gregoire Defrel. Despite trailing by two goals, Milan refused to give up, and Luka Jovic pulled one back in the 59th minute with a well-taken header, capitalizing on chaos in the Sassuolo box.

Milan’s comeback hopes were further boosted when Samuel Chukwueze appeared to equalize in the 64th minute, only for his goal to be ruled out for offside. The Nigerian winger was taken off in the 65th minute, ending a valiant performance as he looks to continue his good run of form.

However, Milan’s persistence paid off in the 84th minute when substitute Noah Okafor scored with his first touch to level the score at 3-3, setting up a tense finale.

In the dying minutes of the game, Milan came agonizingly close to securing a dramatic winner, but Olivier Giroud’s effort sailed over the bar, ensuring the points were shared between the two sides.

With this result, Milan maintains their position in 2nd place in the Serie A table with 69 points from 32 games, while Sassuolo remains in 19th place with 26 points from the same number of games played.
