Villarreal of Spain rising star, Samuel Chukwueze has received a charge to keep working hard in order to stamp his authority at his club and in the Nigerian national team.
Footballlive.ng reports that the charge is coming from his former coach in the victorious Golden Eaglets’ squad that won Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup, Emmanuel Amuneke, who said the lad should make the best of his invitation to the Super Eagles.
Amuneke said he is happy to hear about Chukwueze’s inclusion in the Eagles’ squad to battle South Africa and Uganda next month, but insists the matter does not end there, as the lad should justify his call-up.
However, Amuneke went on to declare that Chukwueze deserves his senior national team invitation, as he recalls that the lad emerged third best player at Chile 2015, which means he is a good player, and the ex-Eagles winger admitted he is proud of his former protege.
The 19-year-old Chukwueze continues to grow in stature this term, such that he even made a mark for The Yellow Submarine in the UEFA Europa League, during which he got an assist in a 5-0 trouncing of Rapid Wien.
Amuneke said: “Good he has earned a call to the national team. I’m proud and happy for him. He is a good player and I wish him all the best.
“For him to pick the third best player award at the World cCp was not a small thing and he has been progressing very well in Spain.
“He has a long way to go in his professional career and must not be put under pressure at this early stage; because he is incredible talent.”
