Kwara United Head Coach, Kabiru Dogo has expressed concern over his team’s struggles at home this season in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The Ilorin club’s latest home fixture resulted in a goalless draw against Rivers United in a rescheduled matchday 23 encounter on Thursday.
Kwara United failed to convert their chances and hit the woodwork four times despite dominating the game, extending their streak of disappointing home results. The team has lost once and drawn six times at home in the league this season.
Dogo voiced his disappointment in the post-match interview, stating, “It’s a game that we really worked and planned to get three points because of the value and what we have achieved on the road so far.”
Dogo acknowledged the team’s progress but highlighted the challenge of replicating their away form at home. “Anybody that knows the team will know that we have progressed very well, but we are always finding it difficult to get the desired results at home – that’s football because it’s one of those things.”
Dogo remained optimistic about the team’s improvement, stating, “I believe the team is improving every day. What we have achieved outside, we have not achieved it at home but we continue to pray for success on the home ground.”
