SC Paderborn of Germany defender, Jamilu Collins has gained huge support from his club in his fledgling Super Eagles’ career, as the team believe lining out for the Nigerian national team will improve the left-back’s form, footballlive.ng can report.
Although there were initial worries that an injury copped last weekend by Collins could rule him out of the Eagles’ upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa, Paderborn have declared that the dark-skinned lad will be released to join the national camp.
Collins had to be substituted in the second half of his side’s 2-0 loss to MSV Duisburg and the former Rijeka of Croatia youngster has been struggling with an ankle injury for several weeks.
However, Paderborn’s sport chief executive, Markus Krösche stated that Collins will be released by the club from Monday, November 12th to Wednesday 21st for the Eagles’ scheduled of matches.
The German second division club opted to focus on the positives of Collins’ recent international upliftment, with a verdict that the former Flying Eagles youngster continues growing in leaps and bounds.
Such it is that Paderborn also expressed Satisfaction with Collins’ role with the Eagles, noting that his invitations to the team are a result of his good performances for the 2 Bundesliga club.
Krösche stated: ”The renewed invitation is also a confirmation of his good performance in the 2nd Bundesliga.
“Jamilu has become a top performer in our defensive network. In the national games, he will gain more valuable experience.”
