SC Paderborn of Germany defender, Jamilu Collins says Tuesday’s goalless draw in an international friendly against Uganda was a fair result for the Super Eagles, but footballlive.ng reports that he would have preferred seeing the Nigerian side win the friendly.
Collins, who admitted he was equally glad to play five straight games for the Eagles since getting his debut against Liberia in October, said he will now aim to keep his national team spot by doing better with his club.
On getting back to Paderborn, the former youth international said his target would be to win promotion to the German Bundesliga.
Collins, though, admitted he is heading back to his club with mixed feelings, stressing that he would have been happier had the Eagles beaten Uganda in Asaba.
“I am happy for the privilege given to me by my country and I thank God for everything.
“I am now going back to my club, and our goal is to win promotion to the Bundesliga and I believe we will do that this season.
“Uganda were aggressive and strong. We wanted to win this game, but unfortunately it ended in a draw.
“It was not a bad result, but we would have got a better feeling had we won the game.”
