Cyriel Dessers is determined and hopeful the win against St Johnstone will set Rangers on their way to another successful Scottish League Cup campaign this season.
Philipe Clement’s team kicked off their campaign and title defense with a comfortable 2-0 victory at Hampton Park on Saturday.
The Nigeria International made the difference coming off the bench scoring in just after 60 minutes.
The forward player also assisted Ross McCausland to double the lead and seal the Vic for the Gers.
After the match, Cyriel Dessers said, “We had the feeling of winning the League Cup trophy last season, and it is an amazing opportunity to win something early in the season. This was the first step, but it is a necessary step.”
He added, “It would be a dream to get to another final and win it, so we have to take it step by step and round by round, but this is a good first step.”
