Following the Super Falcons of Nigeria back to back victory in another final of the Africa Women Cup of Nations against South Africa’s Bayana Bayana yesterday.
Nigeria’s Sports Minister Barrister Solomon Dalung stated that the Super Falcons of Nigeria remain the best women’s football team in Africa
Barrister Dalung expressed his profound happiness for their display of hard work in the AWCON.
The honourable said in his message Congratulations to the Super Falcons of Nigeria. Your supremacy in African football has been reaffirmed with this victory over South Africa and winning the competition for a record the ninth time.
Though the victory was a difficult one, but an interesting revenge against South Africa who they lost to in the at the opening match.
The Minister stated that the team for not only qualifying for every edition of AWCON but for also clinching one of the Women’s World Cup tickets for France 2019.
Barrister Dalung promised government’s support for an increased development of women’s football in the country.
Dalung concluded by saying will take charge of all responsibility to ensure that the team gets all needed before the World Cup next year.
