As controversy continues spreading over the trip to Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire by Nigeria’s female national team, Super Falcons’ players in ‘coats of many colours,’ sports ministr, Barrister Somlon Dalung’s media aide, Nneka Anibeze has parried any fault from her principal.
Though a section of the sports media have alleged that the Falcons were a victim of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF’s) inability to get funds from the sports ministry, footballlive.ng can report that Anibeze has stressed that she was not aware of such development.
She parried the issue further by reminding anyone who cared to listen that the NFF, by regulations of world soccer governing body, FIFA, are meant to be an independent body that should not be held down by perceived interference from the sports ministry.
“I’m not aware of any issue like that. They are an independent body who don’t need interference from the ministry,” Anibeze declared.
