Remo Stars head coach, Daniel Ogunmodede emphasized the team’s awareness of the competitive nature of the battle for the league title in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Currently occupying the fourth position on the table after 22 games, the Sky Blue Stars are keenly focused on their remaining fixtures in the league.
Ogunmodede stressed the significance of every game, highlighting the team’s determination to maintain their position at the top of the table.
Speaking to the club’s media, he stated, “We know how important every game is for us… We don’t want to go back there again; it’s a total mess-up of what we do here.”
Acknowledging the upcoming Southwest derby against Sporting Lagos at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Sunday, Ogunmodede underscored the importance of securing a victory to sustain their position in the league standings.
“If we lose our next match in Lagos we might return to fifth position so we don’t want to be there again. We want to remain at the top of the table which is very important for us.”
The coach’s remarks reflect the team’s commitment to excellence and their ambition to clinch the league title they narrowly missed last season on goal difference against Enyimba at the league championship playoffs in Lagos last year.
