Nigerian female under 20 coach, Christopher Danjuma has said that the team are training very well ahead of the upcoming world cup. The 2024 U-20 world cup is set to take place in Colombia between August 31st and September 22nd, later this year.
Danjuma mentioned that training camp is going on well, and everyone is doing their part to make the nation proud.
“We’ve been in camp, preparation has been excellent. Everything, giving our best to make sure to have the opportunity to go and do Nigeria proud”, said Danjuma.
Danjuma also spoke about the trimming down of the the team. Currently, there are 32 players in camp, from which the gaffer has to select his final 21 players for the tournament.
“Yes (32 players are in camp), from the 32 you trim down to 25. Then, from the 25, you have the final 21”, the gaffer said.
The falconets are set to play two friendly games against Australia and Mexico in Colombia, before the global showpiece commences. Nigeria are drawn in the same group with three-time champions Germany, Venezuela and Korea in the first round of the tournament.
