Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Amaju Melvin Pinnick has disclosed that the government of Delta State has already settled all bills and expenses for Tuesday’s international friendly against Uganda.
Footballllive.ng can report that Pinnick is excited that his state of origin is playing a key role in supporting the Super Eagles, and believes more of suich opportunities will still come in future.
Pinnick also showered encomiums on the governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, for leading the new line of support for the Nigerian national team, who he added now have a duty to justify all truist and confidence given them.
The NFF boss, who was simultaneously chairman of Delta State Football Association and Delta Sports Commission before his first election as the nation’s number one soccer administrator in 2014, said he is also glad that the Eagles have been making the nation happy of recent.
He hailed Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr for putting together a young yet vibrant and promising squad, which he believes will make Governor Okowa, the NFF and all Nigerians happy by beating both South Africa and Uganda in their upcoming matches.
“The bill for next Tuesday’s international friendly against Uganda has been underwritten completely by the Delta State government.
“We appreciate Governor Okowa for the tremendous support given to the Super Eagles and by extension, the Nigeria Football Federation.
“As my Governor and father said, this State will begin to play a more prominent role in the programmes of the NFF and the Super Eagles.
“I want to commend the Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr for assembling a young, professional and very efficient team for now and the future.
“We will continue to do all we can to making sure they do Nigeria proud,” Pinnick concluded.
