Shooting Stars’ General Manager, Dimeji Lawal, has responded to widespread speculations regarding the potential departures of key team members, including head coach Gbenga Ogunbote, star players Christian Pyagbara, and team captain Malomo Taofeek.
In a statement addressing these rumors with Brila Media, Lawal emphasized the continuity and stability within the team as they prepare for the upcoming season. He confirmed that the team is set to resume training next Monday, with all players and technical staff expected to report.
“We are resuming next week, and I’m very sure all these people will be in training by next week,” Lawal stated. “As of today, all the people are with the team. Some have extended their contracts, and some still have contracts. The team will see with Ogunbote by next week.”
Lawal’s comments suggest that despite the speculations, Shooting Stars are focused on maintaining their squad and coaching staff, ensuring a smooth start to their pre-season preparations.
