Tragedy shook Nigerian Professional Football League as Doma United FC suffered a serious road accident over the weekend.
The team was returning to Gombe after a match when their bus was involved in a crash along the Makurdi-Lafia road.
According to a report by NPFL News on X (formerly Twitter), the bus somersaulted several times, resulting in multiple injuries among the players. However, there were no fatalities.
“Doma United was involved in a road accident, many players injured, no lives lost. The bus somersaulted several times, but it is a soothing relief that no lives were lost,” the report stated.
While the exact number of injured players and the severity of their injuries have not yet been disclosed, the team and its supporters are relieved that the accident did not claim any lives.
