Doma United’s head coach, Akinade Onigbinde, has pinpointed a lack of communication as a significant factor behind his team’s recent 4-0 loss to Plateau United. The match, which took place at the New Jos Stadium on Saturday, saw the Savannah Tigers succumb to a heavy defeat against the Peace Boys.
Expressing his disappointment, Onigbinde highlighted the evident communication breakdown among his players, particularly between the goalkeeper, defenders, and strikers. This lapse, according to him, contributed to their inability to contain Plateau United’s attacking threats effectively.
Despite the setback, Onigbinde remains optimistic and committed to addressing the identified issues. He emphasized the need for his team to regroup and strategize ahead of their upcoming fixture against Remo Stars.
“There is a communication gap between the goalkeeper, the defenders and the strikers which cost us the game,” he stated in a post-match interview.
“We have to go back home and prepare for the next game against Remo Stars.”
“We have to work towards achieving the maximum points in the game.”
Following this defeat, Doma United have slipped to the 12th position in the league standings. Plateau United’s goals in the game were scored by Bernard Mundi, Sunday Anthony, David Onovo, and Barnabas Daniel.
