Bournemouth of England January signing, Dominic Sonlake has gained words of praise from Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, who says the Nigerian-born striker has great talent.
Although Solanke could not tie down a regular shirt at Liverpool and had to be shipped out last month, after toiling for two seasons sequel to his arrival from Chelsea, footballlive.ng reports that Klopp still holds the hitman in awe.
Such is Klopp’s admiration for Solanke that the German tactician has now revealed that he had to approve the mulatto striker’s sale to Bournemouth in order to save his fledgling career.
Klopp stated few hours before the 21-year-old Solanke lined out for The Cherries against The Reds on Saturday afternoon that he sanctioned the FIFA U-20 World Cup mist valuable player’s exit from Anfield in January for him to develop better elsewhere.
“It’s always a bit strange and scary if you play against a former player. Dom was here four weeks ago and we saw him every day.
“He’s a wonderful guy and a big, big, big talent but we couldn’t give him enough match time, so for his development it’s unbelievably important that he gets these minutes. He had his first start last week. That’s good,” the former Borussia Dortmund gaffer stated.
