The nigerian national team has now welcomed it’s players ahead of their upcoming world cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic. The eagles play South Africa in Uyo on friday, before traveling to Abidjan to play Benin Republic.
The national team are currently based in Uyo, the venue for their game against South Africa bave already welcomed up to 15 players from their 23 man squad. The team held two training sessions on sunday as they begin their preparations. Notable faces in training include Samuel Chukwueze, Raphael Onyedika, Kelechi Iheanacho and debutant Ismael Sadiq.
Notable absentees include Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey amongst others. Reports suggest that more players will arrive today and join up with the squad immediately.
The super eagles picked up only two points in their first two games of qualifying, drawing against Leostho and Zimbabwe. The team are currently placed third, behind Rwanda and South Africa in group C of CAF world cup qualification.
