The Super Eagles’ players may have a different factor to worry about in Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles than only their opponents, as the Nigerian the players are dissatisfied with the poor state of the turf at Stade Linite in Victoria.
Though the pitch is astro-turf, the Nigerian players have pointed out that the turf is quite bumpy and could cause injuries.
However, a cross-section of the Eagles’ players vowed that they will not allow the dodgy situation bother them during Saturday’s match, as they want to get victory at the 10,000 capacity arena that was built in 1992 and renovated in 2017.
“The pitch standard is terrible. It’s a very poor synthetic pitch and may cause us injuries but we will ignore that and focus on winning,” one of the players declared.
