All players in the Super Eagles’ camp are excited with the facilities they have worked with at the start of their training programme for Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya.
The match is billed for 4pm at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium (The Nest of Champions) in Uyo, ahead of which the team commenced full training on Wednesday.
After the first day of full training on the pitch, Eagles gaffer, Gernot Rohr said in a press conference monitored by footballlive.ng that he was very happy to see all his players excited and filled with a lot of zeal.
The Franco-German tactician also praised the quality of the practice [pitch of the stadium, which he said gave him and his players a good foundation to build upon ahead of the main attraction on Saturday.
Rohr disclosed further: “I am happy that we first trained on the pitch on Wednesday, and it was very exciting. It’s a good pitch, and helped us start well.
“Fresh air, good pitch. It was already the fourth training session because we started, not with other players, on Monday.
“We did two on Tuesday and one on Wednesday morning at the Golf Course.
“On Thursday, we will start tactical training for the difficult game against Libya.
“All the players are happy, I am also happy. We hope to do well on a good pitch.”
