Benfica of Portugal’s first summer signing, Tyronne Ebuehi has declared himself fit to battle England on Saturday, despite appearing to cop an injury on Monday against DR Congo.
Indeed, the former ADO Den Haag of Holland right-back limped out of Monday’s friendly in Port Harcourt with what appeared to be a groin complaint, but the Dutch-born lad says it was only a case of cramp and insists he has fully recovered from it.
Consequently, Ebuehi has played down concerns that he might be battling with a serious injury, after he was replaced by Shehu Abdullahi after going down holding his leg.
As part of the preparation for the Mundial, the Eagles will play against the Three Lions of England who are also World Cup bound, and Ebuehi wants to play a role in Saturday’s tie at Wembley Stadium.
Ebuehi further said it will not be an easy encounter, but interjected that Nigeria could come out tops from the friendly in London.
“Because I haven’t played for a long time so that is why cramp started coming on my calf. Yes I will be fine for the England game.
“We can come out tops against England. Everything is possible. It’s not going to be easy but I think it is possible,” Ebuehi concluded.
