Benfica of Portugal defender, Tyronne Ebuehi is facing more woes from his long bout with injury, as he has been left out of the Iberian club’s squad list for the next stage of the UEFA Europa League.
Footballlive.ng gathered that Ebuehi, who is yet to play a single competitive match for Benfica, as he copped a long-term injury soon after arriving from ADO Den Haag of Holland last summer, is not listed for the UEL round of 16.
It means the fair-skinned Holland-born lad, who starred for Nigeria in two matches at last year’s World Cup in Russia, will not be in action for Benfica against Dinamo Zagreb on March 7.
Benfica will travel for the first leg away, then return home to settle scores with the Croatian side, but Ebuehi will miss both games, as he is going through post-surgery rehabilitation.
This comes after Ebuehi ruptured his cruciate ligament in pre-season training with Benfica, shortly after his arrival from Den Haag as a free agent in the summer.
The 23-year-old defender, who can play as a wing back or full back on either side of the pitch, has already missed his initial return date of 29th of January, which has ruled him out of many ties for Benfica and Nigeria.
