Benfica of Portugal incoming defender, Tyronne Ebuehi has revealed his expectations for the World Cup in Russia, and admits he will love to be part of the Nigerian squad to the global soccer showpiece, where he expects the Super Eagles to excel.
Though Ebuehi opined that it would not be a matter of life-and-death for the Eagles to win their matches in Russia, he acknowledges that any player that makes the final squad would have to justify their inclusion and play well to make Nigeria proud during the competition.
After opting to represent his fatherland, the former Netherlands youth international made his debut for the Super Eagles in a 3-0 win over Togo on June 1.
Although he was part of the squad that secured the country’s sixth World Cup appearance, he is yet to win any competitive cap for the Eagles, after his debut in the November 14 friendly against Argentina, which Nigeria won 4-2 in Krasnodar, Russia.
