ADO Den Haag of Holland defender, Tyronne Ebuehi has restated his allegiance to Nigeria, as he stressed that he is ready to play for decades with the Super Eagles.
Speaking against the backdrop of reports that he is considering dumping Nigeria to play for Holland at this year’s World Cup, Ebuehi, who is still in line for a transfer to Benfica of Portugal, said his loyalty to the Eagles remains strong.
Ebuehi dismissed media reports making the rounds that he could consider switching allegiance to his country of birth, Holland, despite featuring twice in a friendly game for Nigeria.
The 22 year -old, who is still eligible to play for The Orange Boys, stressed that his decision to dump Holland for Nigeria is irreversible.
Ebuehi, who was impressive in the Eagles’ 4-2 win against Argentina last year, was mum on reports linking him with Benfica.
He, however, said he now wants to focus his attention on ending the season on a high to enable him stand a chance of making Nigeria’s World Cup team.
“The next few month will be very key in my career. I want to call it a defining moment, hopefully I can play well at club level and get a look-in ahead of the World Cup
“First, those are just rumours and have no basis; my decision to play for my Country, Nigeria is irreversible and I want to achieve great things with the team.
“Playing for a country like Nigeria is a big step in my career and I just started and want to play for the Super Eagles for decades,” he concluded.
