Glasgow Rangers of Scotland summer arrival, Ovie Ejaria may end up missing action in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday, due to a niggle he picked up in training.
Ejaria, who footballlive.ng learnt has been registered alongside the Nigerian duo of Sadiq Umar and Adedapo Awokoya-Mebude, is now in doubt to kick start the group stage of Europe’s second-tier continental clubs competition.
This much has been disclosed by The Gers’ manager, Steven Gerrard, who admitted that the former Golden Eaglets invitee may miss his side’s trip to Spain, where they face La Liga outfit, Villarreal in their opening match on Thursday.
Ejaria helped The Light Blues reach the group stage of the Europa League, playing all their eight matches in the qualifying rounds and scored a crucial opening goal against FC Ufa of Russia in the playoffs.
However, he was not involved last Saturday, when Rangers beat Dundee in the Scottish Premiership, but Gerrard hopes the lad on loan from Liverpool could be back in domestic action this weekend.
Gerrard said: “It’s a small niggle he got in training, he felt a bit of hip flexing. It’s days, he should be available for Thursday, worst case for the weekend.”
