Ekiti United, a Nigeria National League (NNL) side, has taken decisive action following a disappointing 5-0 loss to Smart City FC at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
The entire coaching crew has been sacked in the aftermath of the defeat.
The decision comes as Ekiti United who stands in 10th position on the NNL table with 17 points, signaling the need for a change in leadership to improve performance.
In response to the shake-up, former Akwa United coach Ayodeji Ayeni has been appointed as the new head coach of the team. Ayeni brings a wealth of experience, having previously managed Sunshine Stars.
Ekiti United’s season has been marked by inconsistency, with five wins, two draws, and 10 defeats so far.
The management hopes that the appointment of Ayeni will bring about positive changes and lead to improved performance for the remainder of the campaign.
