Ekong makes ninth league start in Udinese’s crushing loss to Napoli

Date:

Super Eagles central defender William Troost Ekong made his ninth start of the season in Udinese’s 3-0 loss to Napoli in the Serie A table on Saturday night.

The no nonsense lad was substituted after 35 minutes for tactical reasons with Nicholas Opoku taking his place.

Fabian Ruiz and Marko Rog came off the bench to score around Dries Mertens’ penalty, as Napoli dominated Udinese 3-0 and moved to within four points of Juventus.

Ekong joined Udinese from Bursaspor in the 2018 Summer Transfer Window.

He also had stints with Tottenham Hotspurs, Haugesund and KAA Gent.

Udinese are 15th on the Serie A log with eight points from nine games.
