El-Kanemi Warriors to Play CACC Home Games in Abuja

Date:

El-Kanemi Warriors have announced that they will play their home games in the CAF Confederation Cup at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

The 2024 President Federation Cup champions made this decision after their home ground, El-Kanemi Stadium in Maiduguri, failed to meet the required standards set by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

This appearance will be the first time in over two decades that El-Kanemi Warriors will compete on the continental stage.

The team, led by coach Aliyu Zubairu, is set to face Beninese club Dadje FC in the preliminary round.

The first leg of this encounter will take place between August 16-18, while the return leg is scheduled for August 23-25.

Should the Maiduguri-based club successfully navigate past Dadje FC, they will face a challenging second preliminary round against former champions RS Berkane of Morocco.
