Coach Elechi’s wonders working with low budget Go-Round FC by keeping them above the relegation waters did not go unnoticed following comments made by Yobe Desert Star Chairman, Ago Abubakar after the Rivers born coach put pens to paper on a two year deal.
Speaking exclusively to footballlive.ng, Ago Abubakar said, “Choosing Coach Elechi was a no brainer after looking at his good track record with a low budget Go-Round outfit.”
Coach Elechi was responsible for Go-Round rise from the amateur leagues up to the Nigeria Professional Football League and also keeping the team outside the relegation zone before the league was abruptly ended.
Ago mandate to the Coach was to keep the team in the NPFL and play a brand of football that would make Yobe Desert Stars FC a joy to watch.
Regards to the prompt payment of his players salaries, he said, “The secret of our prompt payment of salaries and players motivational bonuses is our Governor, his Excellency Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam who also received an award for his prompt payment of salaries of workers in the State.“
