Former Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike has revealed that his was able to overcome depression over recent downturn in his career due to support he gained from his wife and kids.
Emenike admitted he felt dejected after his contract with Olympiakos of Greece was terminated, following a career-wrecking injury that stopped him from playing a single game on loan at Malaga of Spain, but says he is now getting back to his very best.
Footballlive.ng gathered that Emenike is looking forward to getting a new club in the January transfer window, as he sets himself up to recover from the blight that he says affected him mentally and emotionally.
Emenike enthused that he hopes to make a big comeback, as he recounts his glorious days in the Eagles, especially in helping the team win the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa, where he emerged top goals scorer.
He declared: “I am eager to return and be great again. I have conquered the fear of injuries and I can tell you I am coming back stronger and better.
“My wife and my kids already give me the motivation to bounce back to the pitch and prove why football has not left me.”
