Las Palmas of Spain striker, Emmanuel Emenike’s birthday was marred on Thursday with news that he will not see action with the club this weekend, as he continues his recovery from a recurring knee problem.
The former Super Eagles striker is yet to feature in a single match for the relegated club since his loan arrival from Olympiacos of Greece in January.
Despite his struggles, though, Emenike, who has been in the books of nine different clubs, said he is proud of his achievements.
He posted a picture of his bright moments on social media, with the caption: “Dear me, I wish that I can tell you just how proud I am of you and all your achievements. Thank God it’s my birthday.”
However, Emenike’s fortunes at Estadio Gran Canaria outfit are now under doubt heading into the summer transfer window, due to his long term injury.
Ahead of Saturday’s next fixture, Las Palmas disclosed: “Emenike and [Gabriel] Peñalba continue their recovery and work part of the group.”
