The minister of Sports development, Senator John Owan Enoh has expressed his confidence over a successful outing at the upcoming olympic games in Paris.
Nigeria are set to be represented by 82 athletes across multiple sports at the games, and the minister mentioned that he is abreast of the situations across the different camps.
“Different sports are already embarking on the foreign leg of their preparations. The Super Falcons are currently in Spain, and the basketball team has also opened a foreign camp. Other teams will follow suit in the new week,” the Minister stated.
He further added that he is being briefed by the performance committee and the teams, and assured that it will be a good outing for team Nigeria in Paris.
The Ministerial Podium Performance Committee has continued to give me reports, and teams are also working with them to ensure we return with medals from Paris. We are confident it will be a good outing for our nation,” he added.
The Paris olympics officially begins on the 26th of july, but the football events will kick off two das before the opening ceremony, with the super falcons playing their first game on the 25th of july against Brazil.
