Enugu Rangers’ CEO, Amobi Ezeaku, has expressed immense joy following the club’s triumph in securing the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) title after a decisive 2-0 victory over Bendel Insurance.
In his remarks after the game, Ezeaku emphasized that the win was a collective achievement and highlighted the ongoing commitment to future challenges, including their upcoming match against Plateau United.
“This glory is not just for us. This glory is for everybody who has contributed, who has prayed for this glory,” Ezeaku stated, acknowledging the efforts of the entire club and its supporters. “When we go to Jos, we have our supporters in Jos. We have our people on the plateau. We will enjoy ourselves.”
Despite the celebratory mood, Ezeaku stressed the importance of staying focused on the next steps, particularly the final game of the season. He outlined the club’s plans to celebrate with fans and bring the NPFL trophy back to Enugu, known as the “coal city.”
“We will express ourselves and then we bring the trophy back to the coal city. Expect more, expect more,” Ezeaku continued, hinting at the club’s ambitions beyond the domestic league.
Looking ahead, Ezeaku spoke about the preparations for the next season and the club’s participation in the Champions League, promising relentless competitiveness and expressing confidence in the team’s ability to handle the challenges that come with increased expectations and fan support.
“I think we should be battling now with how we can control the crowd. Yes, for the Champions League, the fans are coming. We are relentless; we believe in competitiveness. When we compete on the continent, we are not going to let up the numbers, we promise.”
