Nigeria’s sole CAF Confederations Cup campaigners Enugu Rangers have qualified for the group stage of the competition after beating Bantu FC of Lesotho 2 – 1 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium in Enugu on Sunday to qualify 4 – 2 on aggregate.
The Nigerian team who got a valuable 2 – 1 away win in Lesotho a week ago we’re shocked when their opponents drew first blood, scoring the first goal of the second leg tie in the 13th minute through Lehlohonolo Fothohane.
The home side recovered quick from the opponents shock lead with two quick goals from Ajani Ibrahim in the 19th minute and a flying header from tournament top goal scorer Goodwin Aguda in the 23rd minute.
Enugu Rangers will know her group stage opponents when the draw takes place tomorrow at CAF headquarters, Cairo.
