Lille Metropole of France outcast, Vincent Enyeama has refused to allow his pathetic situation at the club becloud his humility, as the former Super Eagles captain has congratulated the club on their escape from relegation in the French Ligue 1.
Enyeama has been shut out of relevance at Lille, since a bout with injury and subsequent falling out with the club’s management, but the veteran shot-stopper his put aside any form of malice in celebrating the survival alongside special wishes for his wife on mother’s day.
Enyeama’s message came after Lille beat visiting Dijon 2-1 on Saturday which guarantees them top flight football next season.
Enyeama has not made a single appearance for Lille this season due to injury, as he had all along been demoted to feature for Lille’s B side
That meant he had to line out in the second team of the club and compete in the French fourth-tier Championnat National 2 to get back to fitness.
He is already in the final year of his contract at Lille and could be on his way out of the club this summer, ahead of which he says he is excited to see the team stay up.
The win saw them move up to 15th place on 38 points, four points away from the drop zone in the 20-team Ligue 1 table, which means they cannot be relegated anymore.
Reacting to Lille survival, Enyeama took to Twitter to express his delight.
“Bravoo Lille, you have done well. Next season, Ligue 1 football for the city. Bravooo a vous,” Enyeama stated..
