Enyimba FC crushed Rivers United in the one-sided Matchday 34 fixture of the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) on Sunday.
The defending champions staged an impressive comeback after trailing early on. Rivers United started strong, with striker Andy Okpe scoring in the 14th minute.
However, Enyimba’s top scorer, Mbaoma Chijioke, quickly equalized before halftime and then gave the lead shortly after the break. Elijah Akanni added two more goals in ten minutes during the second half to seal the win for the team.
