Enyimba are right on course to losing a massive windfall from the CAF Confederation Cup if they fail to find the right attitude and result on the pitch, when they face Raja Casablanca in the second-leg of their semi-final clash.
After a disappointing first-leg 1-0 defeat in Aba, the Elephants could lose out of even more in terms of cash reward to the tune of $1.25million in prize money as winners of the competition.
Between 2003 and 2004 when the club won back to back CAF CL titles, Enyimba pocketed $2million as prize money; $1million for each.
CAF has since increased the prize money for all it’s competitions and the CAF CC largess was also graciously reviewed.
This season and until 2020, winners of the Confederation Cup will take home $1.25million, although Enyimba have already locked in on $450,000 for reaching the semi-final.
The crucial second-leg tie comes up on October 24 at the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca.
