Nottingham Forest are eager to keep Super Eagles defender Ola Aina at the club, offering a new 4-year contract extension.
Aina joined the Reds from Torino on a free transfer before the start of the 2022/2023 season, signing a one-year deal with an option for an additional year.
This extension was activated in May after Aina’s impressive performances across several defensive positions.
The former Chelsea and Fulham player, has started all four of Forest’s English Premier League games this season, notably keeping a clean sheet in 1-0 victory against Liverpool at Anfield.
These prompted Nottingham Forest to start early contract negotiations to secure the 27-year old beyond the current season.
If no new deal is agreed upon, Aina could begin pre-contract negotiations with other clubs in January. Forest will avoid losing one of their key full-backs for free and are moving swiftly to extend his stay.
Ola Aina has contributed to Nuno Espírito Santo’s squad, scoring one goal and providing an assist in 26 appearances since joining the club.
Currently, Nottingham Forest are unbeaten in the Premier League, sitting in seventh place after winning two games and drawing two.
