Etebo benched again as Stoke City’s 10-match unbeaten run ends

Date:

Like a child sent to the naughty corner to reflect on his mistakes, Oghenekaro Etebo sat out a second game for Stoke City after serving a three match ban for a straight red card he copped in November.

Etebo had previously never been dropped to the bench in back to back games for the Potters, but the team had also been on a run of 5-match unbeaten run; until Wednesday night.

Stoke were peppered 2-0 by Birmingham in the championship league match at St. Andrew’s Stadium; Jacques Maghoma (43′) and Omar Bogle (87′) getting the goals.

Meanwhile, for Etebo he can now hope to return to action for Gary Rowett’s side when they face Bolton Wanderers at the weekend.

The Nigeria international joined Stoke in the summer, the biggest move in his fledging career after a three season spell with Feirense in Portugal and spent half a season on loan at Las Palmas.
