New arrival at Las Palmas of Spain, Oghenekaro Etebo is set for a very dramatic debut with the club, as the lad on loan from CD Feirense of Portugal is bound to line out against two Nigerian January signings, Aide Brown Ideye and Isaac Success at Malaga.
Etebo is also bound to have a Nigerian pal on his side, as Las Palmas also sealed the signature of Emmanuel Emenike few hours after they sealed an agreement with Feirense, which makes Monday’s debut more dramatic for all four.
Ahead of the game, Etebo said he is prepared to make an impact from the word go at Gran Canaria Stadium, and stressed that he joined the Spanish club in order to play regularly.
Etebo also confirmed that he snubbed interest from Portuguese side, FC Porto and KRC Genk of Belgium to sign a short term deal with the La Liga strugglers till the end of the season.
He and Emenike now have on their feet an uphill task of reviving Las Palmas, who are 19th in La Liga Santander, with 14 points from 21 points, but they are one ahead of Malaga, who they face on Monday.
