New arrival at Las Palmas of Spain, Oghenekaro Etebo stands the opportunity of joining the modest La Liga side for a fee ranging from 8m to 10m euros should he do well within a period on loan with the side.
This much has been disclosed in the aftermath of Tuesday’s deal that was confirmed for the player, who moved from Feirense of Portugal to his new base in a loan deal.
Though RKC Genk of Belgium had earlier been touted as the team most likely to hook Etebo in the January transfer window, Etebo left Portugal for Spain to sign dotted lines at Las Palmas.
The 22-year-old player preferred the Spanish LaLiga ahead of Belgium, hence his omission from the squad for Feirense against Pacos de Ferreira in the Portuguese Primeira Liga on Tuesday.
He is presently the top scorer of Feirense with four goals in 17 league games this season, which would have been more if not for the defensive way his team are usually set up in games.
Widely expected to make the Nigerian squad to the World Cup, Etebo’s immediate challenge will be to help Las Palmas pull out of the drop zone in La Liga where they are presently placed 19th on the 20 team table.
