Oghenekaro Etebo spoke with maturity ahead of Nigeria’s clash with Libya at the Stade Taïeb Mhiri in the city of Sfax on Tuesday, fresh off the back of a ruthless victory over the Mediterranean Knights.
The midfielder was impressive in the 4-0 rout of Libya last Saturday and though he was satisfied with the result at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Etebo chose to preview a “classic” Africa Cup of Nations qualification game.
Etebo told Footballlive.ng: “Everyone’s got a huge responsibility to respect the situation. Hopefully the football will be celebrated as it’s one of the classic football games played in the Nations Cup qualifiers on Tuesday.
“These games are a one-off, form goes out of the window, the atmosphere is that little bit more special. We’re expecting Libya to bring their best game and we’ll have to bring ours.
“To play in a game like that, they’re the ones you remember. As a player you appreciate what it means to the fans.
