Striker Samuel Akinbinu has tagged every remaining game this season ‘like a cup final’ for Lobi Stars in their hunt for the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title.
The Pride of Benue are on the summit of the table after 24 round of matches in the top flight.
However, with Lobi Stars visiting fifth placed Niger Tornadoes in Minna on Sunday 2nd September, Akinbinu senses an opportunity for the Makurdi-based outfit to increase the gap on the chasing park.
“We’ve got a very important game on our horizon, so we need to win and take advantage of this situation,” he told Footballlive.ng.
“All the remaining games are like cup finals. We’ll play a large, decisive part of this campaign in the last stretch.
“The team has been high up the table all season and realistically we are primed for success,” he added.
