Every Point Counts in NPFL -Enyimba Coach

Date:

Enyimba coach Yemi Olanrewaju emphasized the significance of every point in the ongoing 24/25 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, describing the competition as a marathon.

His comments came after Enyimba secured a 2-1 victory over Lobi Stars in a rescheduled league match at the Enyimba Stadium in Aba.

“We are happy to get the three points. That is what is important to us. The league is a marathon and every game is important. Getting the maximum points is what is important for us. We are putting this game behind us and planning for Rivers United.”Olanrewaju stated.

Reflecting on the recent match, Olanrewaju expressed his excitement about the win but noted some sloppiness in his team’s performance.

I feel very excited and it is important that we win today. There was a bit of sloppy from the boys. It is expected having played in the continent.

The most important thing is that we got the maximum points and I am happy about that.

He acknowledged that the team could have secured the game earlier, adding, “We should have wrapped the game up in the first 20 minutes because we were in charge of the game.”

There next league match is against Rivers United who haven’t lost a game this season.

Looking ahead, Enyimba’s next league match is against Rivers United, a formidable opponent that remains unbeaten this season.

His side is also the only Nigerian team left in CAF competition, having advanced to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup after defeating Etoile Filante.
