Super Eagles goalkeepers’ trainer, Alloy Agu has hinted that a high level of dedication, loyalty and national team commitment in Enyimba of Aba goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa gave the shot-stopper the edge to start against South Africa, footballlive.ng can report.
Although many fans and critics are wont to argue that fellow-Enyimba keeper, Theophilus Afelokhai is ahead of his pal at club level, Agu pointed out that Ezenwa has excelled in training with the Eagles all along and says the star is always eager to participate fully in national team activities.
Agu expatiated: “Ezenwa has been doing very well. All the training sessions that we have been having, even when Uzoho was around, Ezenwa has been very very outstanding.
“In fact the three goalkeepers namely Francis Uzoho, Daniel Akpeyi and Ezenwa have been impressive in training before the South Africa match. So it has to come to decision making.
“Even while playing for his club Enyimba International, Ezenwa was intact and always ready for Eagles’ assignments, that’s why we called for him to man the post against South Africa.”
