Ezenwa Prays For Opportunity At 2018 World Cup

Date:

Enyimba of Aba goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa has declared that he has not given up all hope of manning the posts for Nigeria at this year’s World Cup, as he says he will take any opportunity that comes his way.

Though the home-based Eagles’ captain has apparently lost his first choice spot to Spain-based Francis Odinaka Uzoho, Ezenwa insists he could still get a chance once he steps up his efforts in training and promised to make the best of any call to duty.

Ezenwa, who went on to disclose that former Eagles keeper and captain, Vincent Enyeama was his mentor during his early days in the national team, affirmed that he will give his best if called upon by the coach, Gernot Rohr.

Ezenwa stressed that he is now praying for a chance to be called upon by the technical crew at the World Cup and hopes to make the best of such an opportunity whenever it come.

He said: “Vincent Enyeama was my mentor when he was with the Super Eagles and I was grateful I was able to do my best when I was called upon by the Super Eagles technical adviser.

“Everybody prays for an opportunity to come to him and grab it with bold hands. I just hope and pray that when I am called upon to the team at the World Cup in Russia, I will grab it with bold hands.”
