Enyimba of Aba goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa has declared that he is up to the task of putting up a good performance for the Super Eagles, if called upon to start on Saturday against Libya.
Although Elche of Spain youngster, Francis Odinaka Uzoho is most likely to continue as Nigeria’s current number one in goal, footballlive.ng gathered that Ezenwa is eager for an opportunity to showcase himself.
The home-based Eagles captain copped an injury in action with his club a day before reporting for national team duty, but Ezenwa said he would give his very best if called upon by Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr.
Ezenwa vowed to fight for his place in the Nigeria team and challenge Uzoho for a starting role at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, in order to prove his potentials.
He said: “The most important thing is to keep working hard because this is my business and whenever I’m being invited to the national team, I just have to give my best.
“Football is a game where you are expected to give your best, especially for your country. “ In life, everyone is faced with challenges.
“In football, whenever you are faced with challenges, you have to put it behind and work very hard to bounce back.
“One thing I have promised myself is that, whenever I’m being called upon to represent this great country, I’ll always give my best.”
