FA Cup Fifth-Round Draw: Plymouth Argyle to Face Manchester City

Date:

Plymouth Argyle’s remarkable FA Cup run continues as they have been drawn against reigning Premier League champions Manchester City in the fifth round.

The Championship side pulled off a major shock in the fourth round by eliminating Liverpool with a 1-0 victory, thanks to Ryan Hardie’s second-half penalty.

The draw, conducted on Monday, also set up a number of high-profile fixtures, including Manchester United hosting Fulham at Old Trafford, while Newcastle United will take on Brighton & Hove Albion.

Aston Villa will welcome Cardiff City, and Crystal Palace will face Millwall in a South London derby.

Meanwhile, an all-Championship clash between Preston North End and Burnley guarantees at least one second-tier club in the quarterfinals.

The FA Cup fifth-round ties are scheduled to take place over the weekend of March 1-2, 2025, with winners advancing to the quarterfinals as the competition edges closer to its final at Wembley on May 18.

Full FA Cup Fifth-Round Draw:

  • Preston North End vs. Burnley
  • Aston Villa vs. Cardiff City
  • Crystal Palace vs. Millwall
  • Manchester United vs. Fulham
