Falconets Must Beat China On Monday – Coach

Date:

Nigeria’s youth female national team, Falconets’ assistant coach, Mansur Abdullahi has declared that the side will go all out for victory against China in their third group match of this year’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, because they cannot afford to lose.

With only a draw likely to see the Falconets through, there could be a a tendency for the lasses to take their feet off the pedal, but Abdullahi insists they will still go full throttle in order to avoid any slip up.

Abdullahi stressed that the team cannot afford to lose their final group match against China on Monday, starting at 3.30pm Nigeria time.

After their 1-0 victory over Haiti on Thursday, a win for the Nigerians against China would guarantee them a second round ticket, Abdullahi said that is exactly waht they will be gunning for.

He added: “We just have to put in the best of ability and know that we don’t have to draw or lose the game against China because we believe we can go all the way, even past the group stage.

“We believe in our abilities and strength as a team to do well. The girls know the importance of the World Cup so they cannot afford to lose the next match.

“The only way to reciprocate the tax payers money is by churning out good performance at the Mundial. We are focused as a team and hopeful that we will qualify from the group.”
