Falcons Must Not Be Complacent Again – Amoo

Date:

Former Super Eagles assistant coach, Fatai Folorunsho Amoo has opined that overconfidence and complacency must accounted for the opening group loss the female national team, Super Falcons suffered at the Africa Women Cup of Nations in Ghana, and charged them to avoid a repeat.

Speaking on a radio sports programme monitored by footballlive.ng on Thursday, Amoo, fondly called ‘Arsenal’ during his playing days, stressed that the Falcons must not rest on their oars heading into Saturday’s last group match against Equatorial Guinea.

Although Equatorial Guinea have lost their first two matches of the competition scandalously, Amoo reckons that could be a yardstick for them to be underrated by the Falcons, only to again bring a negative outcome for the Nigerian lasses.

Amoo said: “They lost their opening match to South Africa largely due to overconfidence and complacency, but they got it right against Zambia.

“I hope the Falcons have now learnt their lesson. They should keep up their efforts and work harder to reach their target.”
